Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

The hum of the jet engines grew into a roar, and a thin cloud of dust lifted from the ground in front of the Cafe and blew against the windows.

Just outside, the dropship hovered a mere twenty feet off the ground. All eight thrusters were pointed straight at the ground, blowing short jets of blue flame from their carbonized nozzles. Its heavily polarized cockpit reflected the sun in a bright flare. Inside the cockpit, an intricate heads-up-display showed numerous icons and pieces of information in bright green. A targeting reticle scrolled across the screen and hovered over the Cafe's southeast corner.

In an instant, the wall to the left of the door exploded. There was no flame, only a sudden cloud of pulverized sheetrock and wood. Debris scattered everywhere, and the larger splinters of wood found their way into the other walls or whatever dared to obscure their path. The corner of the roof started to collapse into the cloud of dust, crumbling like a waterfall until it reached a stable point.

Before the situation could even think about stablizing, the windows shattered and a hail of lead poured into the Cafe. The front wall put up little resistance against the onslaught of the dropship's chaingun and filled with holes, which sunlight gladly spilled into. Glasses all across the cafe shattered and tables formed splintered holes, then the rounds began ricocheting, filling the cafe with high-pitched chirps. Bullets peppered the back wall, shattering glasses and blowing the hardwood bar counter apart.

*Rey'Kas dives to the floor next to the wall to avoid projectiles and shrapnel*

Man can't even enjoy his beverage these days..

*Draws and cocks his gun as he pushes over a table for what little cover it might provide and points his gun around the side, looking for a target.*

Legion did not share Rey'Kas' luck, and Legion was caught in a shower of lead and debri. Legion howls in pain as he's thrown backward, him and his chair toppling over. He rolls further backwards and leaves a trail of blood where he was previously sitting.

A very tall, very muscular man walks through the hole in TLC's wall, dressed in a tank top, camo pants, boots, and a pair of black sun glasses. He is armed with a machine pistol in each hand and a belt with many clips. He also has an Uzi holstered on the belt. "Hm.." The man takes a glance at Rey'Kas, the first person he notices, and realizes he is not dead. He frowns and points the pistol in his left hand at him and squeezes the trigger.

Meanwhile, the dropship had spun 180 degrees so her tail was to the Cafe, lowered to the ground, and in the process opened a ramp in the aft part of the fuselage. Seven heavily armed soldiers poured out of the opened passenger hold. Black metallic armor covered their bodies in bulky, angular plates, and their faces were concealed by helmets and visors as polarized as the dropship's cockpit viewports. Each carried a fully automatic submachinegun with flashlights under each barrel and stocks extended to the shoulder. They immediately ran to the Cafe's front wall and took up positions; One at each of the four windows, and three at the front door.

Rikali, snarling, manages to shrink herself so she can lay on a couch. Grabbing a discarded blanket, she tears it into long strips. The dragon stares at the to-be bandages and sighs. She looks around the room for someone to help her tie the bandages around her neck, back, and arms.

Riki watches the dragon with a look of haterd and remorse. She walks over to Rikali and looks her in the eye.
"I'll save your life if you SWEAR to tell me everything about this 'daughter' of mine."

"Fine. I will."
"Before I save you."
"...Fine."

As the dragon unfolds the long tale of Roselenna, the demon girl begins to bandage Rikali's neck. Despite everything, the two begin to feel a mutual friendship for one another.

"So the Abbis is gonna try to end the world?"
"Yes. Which means that Rose is in trouble."
"Well...well...we can't let that...demon-on-steriods end the world! Maybe we can stop him!"
"What happened to wanting to kill me?"
"Things changed. What do you say...? Partners?"
"Partners."

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

The squad leader, positioned to the left of the door, made a series of subtle signals to his team with his free hand. Both of the men on the outermost windows made a slight nod and unhooked flash bangs from their belts. "Frag out!" They both tossed the grenades in their windows at the same, then ducked back down and waited. One second passed, then two enormous bright white flashes filled the Cafe, blinding anyone with their eyes open. On hearing the explosions, the team rose in unison and stormed into the building through the windows and front door, weapons raised.

*Rey'Kas spied Spider~One fromt he corner of his eye and rolls out of the way, just in time for a scorching hole to take his place behind the table. Rey'Kas rebounds off of the nearby wall to come up behind Spider to his other side and places the barrel of his gun against the side of his head.*

Who the hell are you? I didn't see you come out of the ship..

*As he speaks, a blinding flash of light causes his eyes to burn for a moment. He backs away, feeling for cover. He finds his way to what's left of the bar and croutches behind it. His hand passes over a double-barreled shotgun that hangs from right below the surface of the bar... bartender protection, no doubt. Rey grabs ahold of the shotgun with one hand and stands up quickly, turning around once again to face the incoming soldiers. He fires from the shotgun and his pistol both at once at two different targets. Dispite his blindness, both weapons find their mark. Unloading both shotgun barrels into one soldier knocks him back and to the ground. Rey'Kas can hear him fall but is unsure how much damage has been done to him. He has somewhat less luck with his pistol as the bullets can be heard ricocheting off of the armor. After firing both shots from the shotgun and a few rounds from his pistol, Rey drops back behind the counter to up the power setting on his pistol.*

"Not much time.. He thinks to himself, "They'll be coming for me now."

*Rey cocks his pistol and draws his sword.* Ready.

The man in glasses looks over to Ayn and grins. he then realizes Rey'Kas shoot his men and he frowns again. He points both pistols at where Rey ducked down and fires through the bar. He reloads after wasting both clips and walks into the Cafe's back room.

The man comes out of the back room after a crash and a loud: "DAMN IT!" Is heard. The man comes back out of the room with a few papers and shoves them in his pocket. He then notices Ayn charging the energy and smirks, holstering the pistol in his right hand and taking out the Uzi from it's holster. He begins firing at her without any second thought.

((Sorry about that. You have several profiles in the profile thread and you didn't specify. I didn't want it to be unclear who I was talking about.))

*Rey'Kas's hair stands up a bit as bullets blast through the bar and whiz past his head. He peeks around the side of the bar to see his opponent coming back out of the small room, shoving papers into his pocket. Papers that don't belong to him, no doubt.*

*Rey fires several shots at the Uzi as he rushes toward the aggressor. When he's close enough, Rey makes a stong upward diagonal swing at him with his sword.*

Ayn sidesteps out of the way, although it's impossible to avoid the rain of bullets and one catches her shoulder. She winces, but ignores it for the moment. The mass of energy is radiating up her entire arm and in one fluid movement she sends a large chunk of it straight at her assailant.

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

((Whoo. I missed stuff. Catch-up post...))
Hayate had had the recent events slightly easier than most of the others. When he dodged Riki's strike, he had grabbed onto one of the rafters mid-jump. As all hell broke loose, he had found himself in an ideal position to avoid the worst of the attack. When the soldiers started to enter the cafe, he'd made his way up to the front of the cafe via the rafters.

Seeing them enter postions around the bar in an effort to avoid Rey and Ayn's attacks, Hayate found his way behind the rear-most soldier. He wrapped his legs around the rafter and swung around it, drawing his pistol. He tapped teh unsuspecting guard on the shoulder and pushed his pistol into the man's slightly exposed neck, before speaking in a conversational tone

You know, I find the greatest problem with armour is that you can never quite get the neck sealed...

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

((AGH! Have to repost))

Both of Rey's shotgun blasts struck the soldier square in the chestplate so hard it flattened his chest cavity, crushed his ribs with a collective snap, and knocked him over, where he lay silent. Rey's pistol shots also found their target, but pinged harmlessly off the black metal plating in bursts of sparks. This startled the man somewhat, and he dove behind the end of the couch and propped his submachine gun on the arm. The rest of the team immediately ran for cover. One ducked behind a fallen rafter in the bombed corner, and several overturned tables and crouched behind them.

Hayate's target--the soldier behind the fallen rafter--flinched when the cold metal of the pistol's barrel pressed into his neck.
"Shi..." Instinctively, he pulled his head back, but the forward pistol sight caught on the underside of his helmet. Clearly out of options, he slowly dropped his weapon and held his hands up.

Meanwhile, Blue-One, the team leader, had slid up against the other side of the bar, consequently placing him mere feet away from Rey as he charged. He heard Rey begin to rush down the narrow aisle and was first to realize who he must have been attacking. Without hesistance, the soldier stood, spun around and brought his weapon up--

And a shattering
crack! echoed through the cafe. Blue-One reached up with his free hand and clutched his neck, gagged up blood, then fell backwards as blood begun to spurt freely between his fingers. His SMG rattled off a series of barks, caught in a death grip, and peppered the wall and ceiling with holes. A second later, a second crack rang out, this time accompanied by a star-shaped tongue of flame that licked out from the doorway of the darkened back room. The shot ripped through one overturned table in the center of the room with explosive force and blew one of the armored warriors back six feet from behind his cover. He doesn't move--A three-inch hole gapes all the way through his armor and chest.

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

A large shadow flowed from a rooftop unto the ground before the cafe. Vision of the man was obscured by the sun, which was directly behind them. He seemed somewhere between amused and troubled by this events in the cafe. He runs his fingers through his dirty blonde hair, white bands with dark red blotches seems to be loosely tide to his wrists. The man stands and cracks his neck as he picks up the sword layed behind him. "Curious..."

The wind picks up and swirls around Gale, a small cyclone covers him and he re-appears on what remains of the roof of TLC, and watches from there.

Ayn silently steps around one of the bodies and glances up in the rafters. So.. Angsty pants had decided to show his face again. She would contemplate his reasons for being here, but in the back of her mind she figured he was here to make sure she wasn't killed.
